THE KNITCH PROJECT | BRANDING

The Knitch Project began as a senior thesis project emphasizing material exploration of readily available objects and applying various craft processes to transforming the existing items into products with a new life. Ultimately, I designed a series of bags and home goods using reclaimed materials such as wool sweaters, t-shirts, nylons, and frames. As a means to communicate the story behind each unique piece and the project as a whole for its exhibition in the Art, Art History, and Design Gallery, I created some basic branding and extended it to the poster displays and product tags. I selected typefaces that reflected both the hand-crafted processes and the modern design as well as colors inspired by the collected materials. The reverse side of each product tag reveals simplified graphic representations of the materials used to create that piece.

PRODUCT TAGS | Each tag was printed on craft paper and secured to the product using yarn made from t-shirts.

EXHIBITION VISUALS | The three posters are housed in reclaimed frames.
